Quantum Growth® Increases Alfalfa Yield by 11% to 23% While Increasing Nutritional Value

Location:

Southern California Farm

Objective:

This test was designed to determine the effect of Quantum Growth on yield and quality of alfalfa when applied as an addition to grower’s best practices and to determine return on investment of any benefits provided.

Results Achieved:

Use of Quantum-VSC® and Quantum-Light® had significant positive impact on the yield and nutritional value of the alfalfa. Dairy analysis of the alfalfa found the treated alfalfa of both Quantum-VSC and Quantum-Light to have higher value

of milk pounds per ton of dry matter. The alfalfa from block 2 was increased from Good to Premium and alfalfa from block 4 was raised from Good to Premium/ Supreme according to the standards contained in the California Weekly Hay Report supplied by USDA Market News for Friday Nov. 13, 2009 when the analysis was reported.

The Experiment

ELI’s technical representatives provided a treatment plan and assisted in initiating the program. In the experiment, four 1.5 acre blocks were designated as side by side treated vs. control. Samples were taken from blocks 1 & 2 on April 30 and June 18 and sent to Harris Laboratories to determine differences in nutrient uptake levels. Each block was cut, raked and loaded into a weigh wagon to determine the yield in pounds. Additional samples were taken after the 4th cut. Samples were sent to Agri Analysis in Leola, PA for evaluation as dairy feed.

The chart belows shows the additional income that was generated with the blocks that used Quantum Growth. The amounts collected allow for a 15% water weight loss.

Quantum Growth® Increases Grain Yield by 28%

Location:

Borderbelt Research Farm near Whiteville, NC

Date:

March 2011

Objective:

Conduct a trial to determine the benefit of incorporating Quantum Growth into their corn protocol (1 gal at planting; 64 oz at V7, V10 and V12).

Results Achieved:

Early growing conditions at the site were ideal with adequate rainfall and moderate temperatures. However, dry weather from May 20 to the end of the season resulted in stress throughout the period from V10 to maturity. Analysis of the data found that the Quantum Growth treatment significantly increased yield when compared to the check treatment.

The Experiment

Experimental design consisted of a randomized complete block arrangement with four replications. Plots were four rows wide and 40 ft long.

Control Protocol:

Treated Protocol:

• 0-0-46 at 215 lbs. per acre prior to planting

• 10-27-0 in a band at planting

• 30-0-0 UAN at 20 gals per acre

• Control protocol with Quantum Growth; 1 gal at planting; 64 oz at V7 and V10; 32 oz at V12

Note the size of the treated root mass, stalk girth and plant height. Also, the treated has begun to tassel while the control is still growing.

Quantum Growth Dramatically Increases Size of Corn Plants While Reducing Nutrient Requirements

Location:

Elysburg, PA

Background:

A 1500 acre Pennsylvania farm manages large swine facilities where they use MICROBE-LIFT/HOG to assist in manure management and provide a high value fertilizer for their fields.

Objective:

We conducted a study to determine if the application of Quantum Growth could further enhance corn yields by increasing water retention and nutrient availability, fixing nitrogen, and replenishing soil biology.

Results Achieved:

The additional treatment with Quantum-Light® and Quantum-VSC® produced dramatic results. As shown by the picture below, plants grown in section 2 showed a larger root mass within three days and grew to twice the size of control plants within 16 days. Plants in Section 3 showed 10 to 20 times the root mass when compared to the control and produced a 15 to 20 times larger plant.

The Experiment

Three growing sections were established, all with different inputs. All three sections were treated with 5000 gal/acre of treated manure. Section 1 was the control. Sections 2 and 3 added varying amounts of Quantum Growth.

Quantum Growth® Increases Cotton Yield with Less Fertilizer

Location:

Cotton Farm — Buttonwillow, California

Background:

Like most agricultural operations, this cotton farmer is continually looking for cost effective solutions to optimizing yields in all types of weather and disease pressure conditions. Based on results Quantum had demonstrated and achieved on other crops, the Bottonwillow farm was anxious to determine potential benefits on cotton production.

Objective:

The goals of the project were well defined:

• Improve plant production volume including fiber, seed, and total weight

• Increase production quality as determined by quality of fiber and seed

• Improve plant health as determined by fiber and seed

• Reduce nitrogen fertilizer use vs. standard recommended protocol

Results Achieved:

All plots with added Quantum Growth increased the cotton yield per acre.

  • Plots with reduced nitrogen fertilizer application performed better as the amount of fertilizer was reduced.
  • With 64% reduction in ammonia fertilizer applied, a yield increase of over 7% or 160 lbs of cotton per acre was achieved.
  • Based on this study, further reduction in ammonia could produce additional yield increase for an even greater return on investment (ROI).
  • Less fertilizer also mitigates salt build-up and negative effects of synthetic fertilizers on soil biology

Seedling Needle Turgor & Root Mass Increase in

Just 30 Days with Quantum Growth

Location:

International Forest Company, Moultrie, GA

Background:

IFCO wanted to test the benefits of using biological growth additives on Long Leaf Yellow Pine Seed.

Objective:

Ecological Laboratories, Inc. provided a treatment plan for a test plot of one acre for approximately 900,000 container seedlings. Initial application of 1 gallon Quantum-Light and 1 gallon Quantum-VSC was through overhead irrigation just after seeds were put in flats. A second application of the same dosage was applied through the overhead irrigation system two weeks later. Control seedlings were grown with only the grower’s best practices.

Results Achieved:

After 30 days, needle vigor and root mass increase was pronounced.

The treated tree plug showed a denser root mass and a more evenly spread root system throughout the plug. This shows the microorganisms’ ability to distribute water evenly in the soil, improving moisture absorption and retention. This is especially important as these trees grow in the forest with only natural rainfall or moisture. Use of Quantum Growth increases food and energy availability to the plant, supporting increased root growth and fruit production. This results in a healthier, heartier plant with decreased dependency on supplemental irrigation, fertilizer, and pesticides.

Seedlings treated with Quantum Growth are on the right in each picture. The visual evidence would indicate root mass increase on noculated trees is greater than 25%.

Quantum Growth Increased Outplanting Survival of Loblolly Pine Trees

In 2009 two groups of Loblolly Pine seedlings were outplanted in Jacksonville, Florida. One group had been given Quantum Growth, while the control was grown with the grower’s best practices.

Control

Fig. 4: The pictures above show the seedlings at outplanting in 2009. The Quantum Growth treated seedlings were generally larger and healthier compared to the controls. Many of the pines in the control group did not survive. You can see the amount of growth in comparison to the man standing in the field.

Fig. 5: These pictures show the same group of pines in 2012. As you can see none of the control group has survived. The treated pine trees received no additional inputs. Quantum microbes stay with the trees and grow in proportion with root exudates from the tree.

Quantum Growth® Increases Peanut Yield By 45%

Location:

Sunbelt Expo Research Farm, Moultrie, GA

Objective:

Demonstrate the beneficial effects of Quantum-Peanod and Quantum Peanod IF on peanut plants.

Results Achieved:

Use of Quantum Growth had a significant impact on the peanut plants. The plants showed an increase in yield of 45%, resulting in an increase in profit of 69%.

The Experiment

The trial had 2 different 20 ft² test plots. The control plot used only the grower’s best practices. The treated plot used Quantum-Peanod IF (in furrow) at planting. Every two weeks after planting, the treated plot received foliar applications of Quantum-Peanod.
